My7DayDiet: Day 6

Re-cap: You know how it feels when you go for a run and you get all hot an’ sweaty and the minute you get back home you guzzle down a few liters of water to rehydrate? That was day 5 for me. The day before (my Day 4: Bananas n Milk) Jen made chicken for dinner. I didn’t mind, of course, because as she and Wayne were eating their dinner while their dessert sat way over there on the counter for the proper time I was slurping my way through another delicious banana milkshake. However…by 9pm I made a promise that if I just so happened to be awake around midnight then I was going after the left-over chicken. As luck would have it I was awake around midnight. A frittata breakfast was replaced by the more immediate option: more cold chicken. I am a gluttonous, gluttonous pig.

Ooo, why did I eat all that chicken?!

I’m guessing that ketchup was a cheat for tomato but somehow I can’t bring myself to care.

The girls and I went for another walk but last nights rain kept us from revisiting the hike. Energy-wise though I feel pretty great. I’m generally someone who likes to wake up with a cup of coffee but I haven’t found I’ve needed it and the only craving I have for it is the taste of a bold cup of delicious warmth.

The junk food cravings have really calmed down, too. A few days ago my plan for day 8, the first day after the detox, was to celebrate with a twix bar and a hoagie but now that my brain does not seem to be clawing at the walls, I think I won’t completely ruin myself.

Now onward to Day 6: Protein and Vegetables

I’m looking forward to today. This day is most representative of a normal food day in the life of Megan. I really need to hunker down and find more ways to get protein. That will be a problem for another day, though. Today: eggs.
