My Project 365: Virus, Hiatus, Catch Up

Dear all…

Due to the horrifyingly large virus my computer contracted (over 500 infected files) I am now a week behind on Project 365. I will be posting 2 dogs a day until I am all caught up. I could do them all tonight but I fear a flood would take away from the importance of each life.

My Project 365: A Dog A Day (Day 18)

Day 18

My Project 365: A Dog A Day

I will select a dog a day to share here.

A dog that is sheltered or fostered in the continental US.

A dog that needs a loving home.

A dog that wants a second chance.

Meet FRANCO!!! ID# 0921671

8 months old

43 lbs

Entered the shelter as a stray ūüė¶

A volunteer writes: Franco sits patiently in his cage, his big eyes looking at me, perplexed, clearly wondering: what am I doing here? I should be outside, playing with you, other dogs and kids. I am just a¬†8 month old babe….. Franco is really good looking. Well nourished, and seems healthy. A pure chocolate coat without flaws. And to top it off, the greatest personality! Indeed, Franco is a well behaved youngster. He walks beautifully well on the leash and appears to be housetrained. He is very nice with dogs met on the way and would love to play with them. Left loose in the backyard, I go on a chase after him, tagging him on the way. He chases me back. We are having lots of fun. Clearly, Franco loves to play and he does not mouth…. Franco is a lovely and sweet puppy. He is at the Manhattan Care Center. He needs a little basic puppy training and he will be the perfect addition to your family. Yes, Franco, the awesome puppy is good to go to his loving new family.

Another volunteer writes:¬† Franco is an amazing puppy.¬† He has wonderful puppy energy but is not hyper in any way.¬† He plays appropriately and gives FABULOUS body hugs.¬† He’s a friendly boy, welcoming a friend and a good walk on this dreary, drizzly day.¬† He was found as a stray but was clearly well taken care of.¬† He’s well groomed and very social, happy to make friends, tail wagging at everyone who passed us by. Franco will fit into any family situation and like any puppy will need a little help growing up into the rock star dog he is destined to be.¬† Franco is a must meet in Manhattan. ¬†

This dog is located at¬†the Manhattan AC&C (326 E 110th Street, NYC 10029). Please act quickly and GO DIRECTLY TO THE SHELTER to adopt (open 7 days per week from 8AM-7PM, adoptions opens at noon). If the dog is on the euthanasia list, you must CALL THE SHELTER to let them know that you are coming (212-722-4939 keep hitting¬†0 until someone picks up. Do not leave a message when the recording picks up — keep hitting 0 until your hear a voice!).
