Entered the shelter as a stray
Message from Brooke over at BruisedNotBroken: This little girl was on the euthanasia list two nights ago but is STILL ALIVE. However, if not rescued, she will go right back on the list ASAP 😦 ABIGALE is only 25lbs and is said to be losing weight at the shelter. Poor girl is terrified and stressed, with good reason, and needs help ASAP. PLEASE CROSS-POST!
A volunteer writes: Oh my rabbit ears! Abigale is a petite little girl with great big rabbit ears that stand at attention. Her tail never stops wagging, her coat is shiny and healthy and she is as sweet as can be. She was thrilled to be out for a walk on a bitter cold day and even posed like a rock star for a photo shoot, as cold as it was. She is totally people oriented, and also seems to like other dogs. She appears to be housetrained, is good on the leash and easy to be with. Abigale is calm and relaxed and will fit into any living situation. This sweetheart is waiting in Manhattan for her forever home. Be sure to meet her when you are there.
This dog is located at the Manhattan AC&C (326 E 110th Street, NYC 10029). Please act quickly and GO DIRECTLY TO THE SHELTER to adopt (open 7 days per week from 8AM-7PM, adoptions opens at noon). If the dog is on the euthanasia list, you must CALL THE SHELTER to let them know that you are coming (212-722-4939 keep hitting 0 until someone picks up. Do not leave a message when the recording picks up — keep hitting 0 until your hear a voice!). If you absolutely cannot get to the shelter, please contact participating rescue groups to see if they can assist you: http://www.animalalliancenyc.org/about/apos/atoz.htm.
On behalf of the dog before you, THANK YOU!
